Claude connector (MCP server) for Banana Split

I’d love to manage my Banana Split groups directly from Claude. A lot of shared expenses already pass through my AI assistant: receipts I photograph, trip plans, restaurant bills I’m discussing. Logging them still means switching apps and retyping everything. A Claude connector would let me say “add the €84 dinner to the Lisbon group, split between me, Ana and Rui, I paid” and have it land in Banana Split instantly.

Suggested capabilities (MCP tools):

• list_groups / get_group: groups, members and current balances

• add_expense: amount, currency, payer, participants, split type (equal, shares, exact, item-based), category, date, note

• add_expense_from_receipt: pass a receipt image to the existing Snap it OCR pipeline and return the line items for confirmation before saving

• get_balances / who_owes_whom: simplified debts per group

• record_settlement: mark a payment between two members

• list_expenses: filter by group, date range, category or member, for questions like “how much did we spend on groceries in October?”
